Publix, the online giant behind the discount store, said it has received $2.1 billion in annual sales since it introduced its own discount drug last year. And that figure doesn’t include generic versions of the antibiotic, according to a Reuters report.
And it’s not just the price tag, though.
As a result, Publix CEO Jean Yuan thinks it might be time to make some changes.
“There’s a certain extent in the market that there’s a large number of generics,” he said. “But that’s just the way it is.”
That’s a good thing.
In fact, there is a growing market for such drugs, too.
“There’s a lot of generic versions of the drugs,” said John Zucconi, a professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins University.
“It’s not just the price. It’s the kind of price that’s hard to beat.”
Publix’s market is big. And, according to the drugmaker, it has a huge share of the retail market.
In fact, that doesn’t include the generic version of Zovirax, the most popular antiviral drug.
The company said that it also has a big share of the online pharmacy market.
Publix, which makes Valtrex and Zovirax, has a large share of the retail market.
Zucconi said the company is looking for ways to increase the number of drugs sold online.
“To do that, we’ve been doing a lot of work to help ensure that the online pharmacy segment is in the right place,” he said. “But the online pharmacy segment isn’t the only part of the market that’s going to be impacted.”
Publix, which makes Zovirax and Valtrex, has a market share of 8 percent in the United States.
The company said it’s also looking to cut costs and expand its online presence.
“We’re looking to get customers to the online pharmacy section of our website,” Zucconi said. “And we’re seeing people come in and buying prescription drugs. And we’re seeing people coming in and going to their local pharmacies. And that’s not necessarily the fastest thing we’ve done.”
Publix said its website offers a wider range of products than traditional drugstores.
“Our customers can shop at online stores,” Zucconi said. “They’re not just buying medications. They’re buying a wide range of drugs.”
Publix’s online store is also part of a broader trend in online pharmacies, he added.
In addition to the discount drug discount store, other online retailers are also expanding their product lines, such as Amazon.com and Walmart.com.
Publix’s online pharmacy business is also growing.
Publix’s online pharmacy segment has expanded to more than 6,000 retail outlets.
The online giant said it has a good deal of the drug’s revenue from prescription drug purchases.

In addition to the discount drug store, the online giant said it has a good deal of its sales from its online pharmacy.
The online pharmacy sector has also grown, the company said.
